Change It in Settings

  1. Unlock the manager using the current management password.
  2. Open Settings and choose Change password.
  3. Enter the current password and a new password of at least 8 characters. Confirm the new password.
  4. Wait for confirmation, then export a new recovery kit.

What Happens to Old Backups?

A recovery kit is an encrypted snapshot of the protection records. It still needs the password used when that kit was exported. An old kit does not contain later entries; do not overwrite a newer vault with an older snapshot.

An old backup retains its old password. A password change affects the current vault and future exports, not previously saved files. Keep each required backup with the correct password.

Lock the Manager When You Step Away

Choose Lock manager to hide the list and require authentication again. Existing EXE restrictions stay in place. A manager session is separate from Windows sign-in; keep the Windows session appropriately protected as well.
